This excludes several character such as Kaguya Otsutsuki and the rest of the Otsutsuki Clan, and Rikudou Sennin.

10. Kakashi Hatake
Due to the events of his past while trying to save Rin, he loses an eye while protecting Obito, which in return, Obito gives his left eye to Kakashi after suffering from a fatal incident.
With Obito’s eye, Kakashi hones his skills and becomes known as the Copy Ninja, striking fear in others who cross paths with him by copying their abilities.
Because of Kakashi’s abilities, he is able to defeat many foes and demonstrates his strength when he goes up against Tobi who is later revealed to be Obito, a friend he thought was long dead.
09. Minato Namikaze
Minato surpassed all in intelligence and combat, that later had him becoming the youngest Hokage in Konoha’s history.
He was the trainer/teacher for Obito and Kakashi when they were little, and he developed a new technique called the Rasengan, which Naruto later learns from Jiraya and masters it.
Minato would have been alive to demonstrate is true abilities and the Rasengan, but he and his wife sacrifice themselves in order to save baby Naruto and the rest of the Konoha village when it was unexpectedly attacked by Tobi/ Obito and the Nine Tails he controlled at that moment.
Minato did succeed in defeating the Nine Tailed beast as he used his power to seal it into his newborn son, Naruto, along with whatever chakra energy he had left to help Naruto control the tailed beast later on in life.
08. Jiraya
He is a writer and a known pervert who is always trying to catch a peek at girls when ever he can, claiming it’s for research as a writer. He is a powerful Sage user and toad-tamer who has trained Naruto and his father, Minato, as well as Nagato.
07. Nagato Uzumaki (Pain)
Pain is part of the Uzumaki clan, but has no immediate relation to Naruto. After suffering the loss of his best friend, Pain becomes a different person from now on.
Once wanting peace for the world, he become severely strong and obtains a power which allows him to create the Six Paths of Pain, six animated corpses he can use as puppets.
Pains strength is demonstrated in two different occasions, in a battle with Jiraya whom he defeated, and his last battle against Naruto when he attacked and demolished the Hidden Leaf village of Konoha.
His power was unimaginable to the point of sacrificing himself in order to bring back to life those he killed in the village, and it was a lot of lives!
06. Itachi Uchiha
After this event, Sasuke strives to become powerful enough to take on his brother and avenge his kin, for he is the last known survivor.
Later on, he becomes influenced by Orochimaru and flees with him in order to learn how to become stronger than ever.
When he does, he defeats Orochimaru and sets out in search of his brother by teaming up with Akatsuki, knowing Itachi is part of the group and a way of getting close to him.
The battle that occurs between them both and the battle with Obito as he teams up with Naruto, is one of the craziest and beautiful display of power in the series.
04. Obito Uchiha (Tobi)
Along with his identity, the true strength of Tobi was never known until his faces against Kakashi revealing his true identity.
During this time, he has already become powerful to the point of defeating and capturing all the tailed beast, giving him the power to become the Jinchuuriki of the Ten Tailed beast.
Obito’s power is so great, it becomes the main factor in the revival for Madara’s mortality.
03. Hashirama Senju
Due to unavoidable conflicts with Madara’s clan existing with the Hashirama’s clan, the Senju Clan of the Forest, they part ways and become enemies which have them fighting to the death. Or so it seemed.
They both display their power when they fight at the Valley of the End and two statues of each other were constructed to commemorate the battle, that’s how memorable it was.
They later fight again in the series during the fourth great ninja war after they’re resurrected from the dead and once again fight to death.
Hashirama was the only user who controlled the Wood Release technique, a combination of the is a mixture of Earth and water nature chakra, that allowed him to manipulate nature for his personal use in battle. Hashirama was also one of the only people able to stop Madara in his tracks, but not during the fourth great ninja war, sadly.
02. Madara Uchiha
Madara was the leader of the Uchiha clan and formed the Konoha village with Hashirama. Although, Madara was the one who felt he should’ve been elected the Hokage of the village, others thought differently.
Madara challenged the leaders including Hashirama to become the Hokage, but failed and had no support from anyone, not even his clan, who thought Madara only wanted to bring about the war that once brought pain and suffering to his people.
Madara set out to challenge Hashirama in the Valley of the End, with his acquired help from the Nine Tailed beast.
He was defeat a presumed dead after the battle with Hashirama. Madara was then resurrected later on in the series and acquired the power of the Rinnegan and Wood Jutsu abilities combined with his Sharingan and Mangekyou Sharingan abilities. With these acquired powers, he is now the strongest character in Naruto, as of now!
01. Naruto Uzumaki
Not only gaining respect from his own village, he’s gained the respect of others around him where ever he goes, while developing strength and power.
He is a Jinchuuriki, and has the powerful spirit of the Nine Tailed beast within him, which he later learns to control and coincide with as it allows him to become one of the most powerful ninjas alive.
He demonstrates his strength throughout the series and proves it even more when he battles against Obito, who is already a Sage of the Sixth Paths at the time. One of Naruto’s strongest attributes, is his love for his friends and those around him.
